Global Benefits Program Manager

Role Overview: The Global Benefits Program Manager plays a critical role within the Global Benefits Center of Excellence, responsible for driving execution excellence across the global benefits portfolio.

Global Portfolio & Program Management

  • Manage the Global Benefits portfolio, ensuring visibility across all Benefits, Well-being, Leave, compliance, vendor, and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain the global benefits project portfolio, roadmap, and planning calendar.
  • Establish and administer project governance standards, project methodologies, and portfolio reporting processes.
  • Facilitate prioritization discussions and portfolio reviews to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and available resources.
  • Monitor project health across the portfolio and proactively identify potential execution risks.
  • Support annual planning activities and portfolio roadmap development.

Strategic Initiative Delivery

  • Lead and coordinate execution of global and regional benefits initiatives from planning through implementation and stabilization.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and implementation schedules.
  • Cross-functional activities across Benefits, People, Finance, Legal, Procurement, HR Operations, Payroll, and external partners.
  • Ensure project objectives, deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder expectations remain aligned throughout implementation.
  • Drive accountability for deliverables and ensure timely resolution of project barriers.
  • Support implementation of new benefits programs, policy changes, vendor transitions, compliance initiatives, and operating model enhancements.

Governance, Reporting & Executive Visibility

  • Prepare executive-level reporting, dashboards, status updates, and portfolio summaries.
  • Develop governance materials for leadership meetings, steering committees, and strategic reviews.
  • Maintain visibility into project performance, key milestones, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
  • Produce regular reporting that supports informed decision-making by Benefits and People leadership.
  • Support leadership presentations and annual strategic planning cycles.

Risk, Dependency & Issue Management

  • Maintain comprehensive tracking of project risks, dependencies, assumptions, issues, and mitigation plans.
  • Identify delivery risks and partner with stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Escalate critical issues appropriately and facilitate resolution across stakeholder groups.
  • Ensure dependencies across countries, vendors, functions, and initiatives are properly managed.
  • Monitor implementation readiness and organizational preparedness for significant changes.

Vendor Implementation & Operational Coordination

  • Coordinate implementation activities associated with broker transitions, vendor implementations, program launches, and renewals.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure successful execution of project deliverables.
  • Track implementation milestones, contractual deliverables, and operational readiness activities.
  • Support cross-functional implementation planning and execution.
  • Facilitate alignment between global standards and regional implementation requirements.

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management

  • Build collaborative relationships across global Benefits, PBPs, HR Operations, Payroll, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and external partners.
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment and maintain effective communication throughout project lifecycles.
  • Drive accountability through structured project governance and transparent reporting.
  • Support leaders in navigating competing priorities and resource constraints.
  • Promote a culture of execution excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, governance, reporting, and portfolio management processes.
  • Develop tools, templates, dashboards, and operating procedures that improve visibility and efficiency.
  • Drive adoption of consistent project management practices across the Global Benefits function.
  • Leverage data and lessons learned to continuously improve future initiative delivery.
  • Support maturity of the Global Benefits operating model through scalable governance practices.

Experience Required

  • Experience managing complex programs, portfolios, or large-scale projects in a global environment.
  • Demonstrated project and program management expertise, including governance, reporting, planning, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience coordinating initiatives involving multiple functions, countries, and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience developing executive-level reporting and presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and manage risks, dependencies, and implementation challenges.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, reporting solutions, and portfolio management practices.
  • Able to influence outcomes and drive accountability without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting Benefits, Total Rewards, Well-being, Human Resources, or People-related programs.
  • Experience within a global organization supporting multiple regions and countries.
  • Experience leading vendor implementations, renewals, or operational transformation initiatives.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), PgMP, Agile, or similar certification.
  • Experience supporting a Center of Excellence or shared services environment.
  • Consulting or professional services experience.
