The County of El Dorado Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) Community Services Division provides a range of programs to assist persons in attaining or maintaining their self-sufficiency, independence, safety, and well-being, including Veteran Services, Older Adult Services, and Home Energy Assistance/Weatherization and Community Corrections Collaborative programs.

About the role

The selected candidate will develop, manage, and administer assigned program(s) and/or unit(s) within the Community Services Division. This position oversees programs such as:

  • Older Adult Services (Area Agency on Aging)
  • Veteran Services
  • Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)
  • Weatherization Program

Responsibilities

  • Select, train, evaluate, and discipline subordinate staff.
  • Serve as a resource for interpretation of federal and state laws affecting assigned programs.
  • Assist in the development of policy and procedure; review and ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Perform analysis and prepare detailed written reports on the quality and efficiency of services.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in laws and regulations; keep staff informed.
  • Provide professional and technical consultation on complex program matters.
  • Participate in the development and provision of in-service training and staff development.
  • Assist in preparation of budget information related to assigned programs.
  • Represent the department at community organizations, public gatherings, and meetings.
  • Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of trends and innovations.

Requirements

Any combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. Equivalent to:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, or a field related to the assigned programs.
  • Two years of experience providing professional-level administrative, financial, and management analytical support, or professional-level experience in the technical area of community services programs.

Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid California or Nevada Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record.
