About the role

The Eliza Shirley House & Red Shield Family Residence are emergency housing programs that offer services to empower residents towards self-sufficiency. They accept all family configurations, including those with teenaged children and single men with children.

Responsibilities

• Engage the community to support and provide programming within the shelter.
• Oversee after-school and summer camp programming.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise special youth trips and activities.
• Support the Haven of Hope Learning Zone.
• Work with community partners to secure donations and funding.
• Coordinate all volunteer and special events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW).
• Training in trauma-informed care (Sanctuary Model Training) preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Completion of the following background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check, and Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training.
• Support for The Salvation Army’s Mission Statement.
