Program Manager
JRI's Health Division, located in Jamaica Plain, MA, is seeking a Program Manager passionate about social justice and health and human services. JRI is a leader in social justice and one of the largest non-profit human service agencies in New England, offering over 100 programs and services. The JRI Health division provides support in Housing, Legal Advocacy, Peer Support, Medical Case Management, a QTPOC Youth Drop-In Center, Sexual Health services, and more.
About the role
In this position, you will oversee program operations, staff management, and community partnerships while ensuring compliance with funding and agency requirements.
Responsibilities
- Directly oversee all program staff or delegate supervision duties while monitoring their performance.
- Plan and lead meetings related to training, support, compliance, policies, safety, and more.
- Engage in hiring, management, and performance evaluation activities for program staff.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with local community partners; attend required meetings.
- Operate the program within the approved budget, contribute to budget preparation, and ensure accurate accounting.
- Oversee the intake process to address referrals promptly and plan for expected vacancies.
- Monitor staff productivity, housing capacity, funding, caseloads, and program vacancies.
- Maintain and oversee waiting lists or identify unsupported community needs as necessary.
- Ensure staff facilitate intake, discharge, and termination processes, including support for families or individuals served.
- Monitor adherence to JRI and funding agency requirements for documentation, including medical, clinical, housing, substance use, and EHR records.
- Ensure staff meet client needs through a service delivery model aligned with infection control and clinical requirements.
- Complete all documentation promptly, adhering to policies and procedures (e.g., ehana, audits, licensing, RFRs, grant proposals, reporting, MDPH reports).
- Ensure program staff adhere to documentation timelines and specifications through ongoing audits.
- Provide orientation for new staff on program philosophy, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure annual performance evaluations are completed for all staff.
- Verify through audits that weekly supervision is completed and documented.
- Attend, provide, and complete all mandated annual training as defined by JRI policy and accreditation agencies.
- Meet consistently with the supervising Division leader to discuss program operations, clinical, and administrative functions.
- Collaborate with the Division leader to prioritize activities and ensure completion.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university (preferred).
- At least five years' experience with the target population served, with three years at the supervisor or management level preferred.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of the needs of the population served and understanding of required interventions and treatment.
- Experience in Performance Improvement concepts preferred.

- Able to work alone in an unsupervised environment.
- Must have an active driver’s license and daily access to a working, registered, insured vehicle.
- Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $50,000 to $53,000 per year. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, licensure, certifications, and qualifications.
