About the role

“We are never going to lower the standard for any kid — instead we're going to raise the support to help them get there.” — Braden, Head Guide, Alpha Austin

Alpha is hiring for a Program Manager position to work in person at an Alpha campus in Austin, TX or Scottsdale (Phoenix), AZ; relocation support is provided.

The role follows Alpha’s two‑hour learning model: adaptive apps teach academics in the morning, freeing the day for motivation, life‑skills coaching, and accountability. You will personally own a cohort of K‑3 students while coaching the Guides responsible for their daily progress, staying hands‑on with the cohort each day.

A typical day involves reviewing performance data and Coachbot analytics to identify off‑track students and Guides, running coaching conversations that yield specific next steps, and leading live workshops on public speaking, focus, giving and receiving feedback, and other life skills. As you discover effective practices, you document them in playbooks that become the standard for all Guides, scaling your impact across the level.

Responsibilities

  • Use performance data, classroom observation, and direct feedback to coach Guides and students, then hold both accountable to measurable goals.
  • Facilitate one‑hour live workshops for K‑3 students on life skills such as public speaking, focus, collaboration, resilience, accountability, and giving and receiving feedback.
  • Run individual and small‑group motivation sessions that connect each child's goals and interests to real academic progress.
  • Build and refine playbooks that turn best practices into repeatable systems other Guides can execute consistently.
  • Train Guides on those playbooks and model excellence in facilitation so standards hold as the team grows.
  • Deliver Alpha's three promises to every K‑3 student: they love school, learn twice as fast, and build exceptional life skills and independence.
