Program-Level Software Systems Engineer

About the role

This is a Software Systems Engineer position for the RepBox MASC-F program supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

The candidate in this role will work with both contractors and government civilians at the Lockheed Martin Redstone Gateway facility.

Responsibilities

• Developing system level features that describe sensor representative behavior, performance, and acceptance criteria necessary to provide guidance for software implementation for the developer team on-site.
• Leading a team of multi-contractor radar Subject Matter Experts (SME) and feature elaboration for the software team.

Requirements

• A US Citizen and a resident of the Huntsville, AL area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field is required.
• 7 or more years of system engineering experience.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: MDA Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) systems, tactical weapons systems, tactical sensor systems, software, Formal Qualification Testing(FQT), requirements decomposition, or software tools, and programming languages including python and C++.
• A record of taking initiative and being a team player in a small team environment.
• Comfortable working as a team member in a fast-paced software development environment and willing to engage various levels of stakeholders to ensure that software is capable of meeting the needs of the intended users.
• A highly organized individual with a strong technical background in system engineering principles.
• Good communication skills and ability to lead a team of SMEs to accomplish tasking, algorithm development, certification of behavioral models, requirements verification, and validation anchored to test data.

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate must have a US Secret security clearance.

• Candidate must be able to acquire or possess (as well as maintain) a US Secret security clearance.
