Program Leader - Lucky Shoals Park

About the role

This Program Leader will assist with regular, summer camp, and youth athletics programming; operations; and event planning at Lucky Shoals Park Community Recreation Center in Tucker, GA.

Responsibilities

• Supporting and training part-time staff
• Interacting with residents, department and other county representatives, and other agencies
• Maintaining a safe operating environment
• Completing and processing paperwork
• Preparing and maintaining records and reports
• Aiding with special events and programming
• Overseeing Youth Athletic Associate (YAA) and field rentals at satellite locations
• Completing Civic Rec entries for camps, programs, and classes
• Maintaining communication with staff and management
• Providing excellent customer service

Requirements

• Must be able to work a variety of hours, weekends, daytime, evenings, and holidays
• Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program

Qualifications

• Associate degree in parks and recreation, health and human services, senior services or a related field AND one year of programming, event planning, or community service experience
• An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered
• Valid driver's license
• CPR Certification within 6 months
• First Aid Certification within 6 months

Preferred Qualifications

• In addition to the above minimum qualifications, two years of recreation programming, event planning, or community service experience
• CPR Certification
• First Aid Certification
• Strong supervisory or leadership experience
• Proficiency in program management software and budgeting skills
• Strong planning and organizational skills for managing multiple programs and events simultaneously
