About the role

NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our institution as a Program Lead (PL) reporting to the Executive Director of Clinical Research Operations. The Program Lead will oversee all start-up operations across five clinical research centers, ensuring fast and efficient activation.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic and operational leadership for end-to-end study start-up and activation activities across the CTSI Clinical Research Centers portfolio.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of standardized center-wide start-up workflows, SOPs, operational dashboards, escalation pathways, and performance metrics to improve study activation timelines and operational efficiency.
  • Leads centralized clinical trial budgeting operations for industry-, foundation-, and federally sponsored research studies.
  • Collaborates with investigators, departmental leadership, OSR units, contracts, sponsored programs, billing compliance, IRB, finance offices, and institutional service providers to ensure alignment across contractual, operational, financial, and regulatory timelines.
  • Develops and delivers executive-level operational, financial, and performance reports for CTSI leadership, investigators, institutional stakeholders, and external sponsors.
  • Maintains strong collaborative relationships with investigators, research administrators, finance teams, compliance offices, and institutional leadership to facilitate efficient and compliant study activation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible related experience coordinating clinical/research trials studies.
  • Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and Outlook.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or above in public health or research.
  • 5-10 years experience in clinical research administration and budgeting.
  • Direct experience in financial planning of clinical trials.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver consistently high-quality outputs on time.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills.

Pay

The salary range for the role is $84,577.93 - $101,223.89 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
