Program Intern

About the role

Work with program staff and clients to support independent living skills and resource connections.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients' needs and provide emotional support and advocacy
• Link clients to resources and provide case management support
• Prepare and facilitate presentations on mental or behavioral health awareness
• Able to connect with at-risk young adults and families
• File documentation and enter required data into Salesforce within 72 hours
• Manage projects as assigned
• Report suspected abuse or neglect to the Program Director
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to BCFS safety protocols
• Meet all deadlines and deadlines set by the Program Director and state/federal partners
• Identify and maintain professional relationships with clients and community partners
• Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and case consultations
• Participate in community events and activities as assigned
• Implement BCFS safety protocols including evacuations in emergencies
• Maintain professional relationships and demonstrate respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members
• Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Travel as needed based on grant requirements

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor or Master level student in a human services program
• No prior experience required
• Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check
• Maintain liability insurance throughout internship/practicum experience
