Program Instructor

About the role

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a course curriculum for recreation, fitness and/or dance instruction.
• Provide both instruction and supervision for participants in a fun, positive and safe environment.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and skills in various areas of recreation, fitness or dance.
• Adapt programs to reflect differing levels of participant skill development.
• Promote sportsmanship and encourage creativity in participants.
• Communicate constructively with participants/parents, other employees and the community.
• Enforce and promote safety guidelines for specialized activity.
• Resolve conflicts among participants if necessary.
• Maintain an inventory of specialized equipment and supplies.
• Set up and take down any necessary equipment.
• Be capable of instructing participants of various levels and abilities.

Requirements

• Position is part-time and pay is dependent upon experience and budget allowance.
• Applicants will be subject to a criminal background check, pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening.
