Program Engagement Staff

Core responsibilities

• Guiding students and teachers through the zoo while giving information about animal adaptations
• Presenting topic based information at stations throughout the zoo using an inquiry-based structure

Essential Job Functions

This position will be working mostly Mondays through Fridays for the following dates: September 7-November 3. It may end before November 3 based on program needs and school closings.

Requirements

• A high school diploma with some college preferred in the areas of science, education, or theater
• Comfortable presenting in a fun and engaging manner (being silly for younger audiences) while also making sure to include inquiry-based instruction
• Hightly organized, outgoing, collaborative, strategic, independent, fun, creative, self-starter who is able to multi-task and work independently within a busy work environment
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), strong relationship building skills, and exceptional customer service skills

Pay

Temporary part-time position (20-25 hours a week)

Schedule

Monday-Friday approximately 9am-1:30pm
