Program Director School Age Programs

About the role

We are looking for a responsible leader to develop and lead the operations of our youth education, childcare, or enrichment programs hosted in the Shoreline, Edmonds, and Northshore School Districts. You will develop programs, manage a program budget, and lead a team to provide the best services to participants.

This is a regular, full-time role supporting programs at elementary schools across the Northshore, Edmonds, and Shoreline School Districts.

Responsibilities

• Establish new program activities and expand program(s) within the community in accordance with the Association and branch strategic plans.
• Develop and manage budgets related to the position; meet fiscal objectives.
• Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and supervise assigned staff and volunteers; provide development and leadership.
• Compile program statistics and provide data and reports as required for assigned program(s).
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program(s).
• Provide leadership and support for branch management team, annual fundraising campaign, and volunteer committees/boards as assigned.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, schools, and agencies related to assigned programs.
• Develop, produce, and distribute program information to promote assigned programs in accordance with branch marketing plans.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and all programs comply with YMCA standards, relevant regulations, and other applicable standards.
• Ensure high-quality programs through innovative program development, evaluations, and ongoing training of staff.
• Ensure upkeep of related facilities and equipment.

Requirements

• 21 years of age or older.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant program area or equivalent education/experience. Other applicable education, training, and experience that provide the necessary knowledge, abilities, and skills will be considered.
• Forty-five (45) or more college credits in programming related to child development preferred.
• Two or more years of experience with staff and volunteer supervision, program development, and budget management.
• Experience and knowledge of youth behavior management and child abuse prevention.
• Pre-employment TB test and MMR vaccination required (Concentra options provided at no cost).
• Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to visit sites and community organizations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
• Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.

Pay

$80,168.40 per year.
