Program Director
About the Role
Victory House, located in Boston’s South End, provides residential treatment programs for men dealing with substance use disorders. The four-to-eight month program accommodates up to 24 residents and has a long history of providing treatment to individuals. A welcoming environment for men of all cultures, Victory House is also a long-time leader in providing substance use disorder treatment to people living with HIV/AIDS.
The Program Director is responsible for the delivery of services, development, and maintenance of all operations of the Victory House program. The role supports staff in providing a trauma-informed environment rooted in harm reduction and person-centered services to clients with a history of substance use disorder and mental health. The Program Director reports to the Deputy Director of Recovery Services or their designee.
Responsibilities
- Act in accordance with Victory Programs, Inc.’s Standards of Excellence at all times, including maintaining professional ethics, boundaries, and client confidentiality.
- Ensure the program complies with all statutory and contractual requirements and that policies are observed and administered by staff.
- Implement and ensure program standards of care and best practices.
- Oversee the planning, direction, and all day-to-day program operations, incorporating a harm reduction philosophy.
- Ensure required and appropriate staffing coverage for the program at all times.
- Ensure program compliance with Victory Programs’ financial policies, personnel policies, and safety regulations.
- Prepare annual budgets, approve accounts payable, and monitor monthly financial statements to operate within budget.
- Ensure all required and/or requested reports are prepared and submitted.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client charts and billing records using Electronic Health Records Systems.
- Initiate and maintain constructive, collaborative relationships with internal and external customers.
- Maximize program census.
- Supervise, direct, train, and evaluate assigned program staff.
- Participate in agency Leadership Team meetings and division-based team meetings as needed.
- Provide front desk coverage as needed, including:
- Maintaining and assessing the integrity of the program’s therapeutic, trauma-informed milieu.
- Empowering clients to act in accordance with program guidelines.
- Assisting clients in self-administration of medications.
- Answering phones and the front door.
- Attend monthly neighborhood association meetings.
- Provide on-call support as needed.
Non-Essential Functions
- Represent the program in the community and to designated funders, as requested by the supervisor.
- Participate in and support the agency in program holiday events, State House rallies, fundraising and advocacy events, HIV/AIDS rally and walk, and additional functions.
- Identify alternative funding sources supportive of the program mission.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary by your supervisor or their designee.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years’ experience working with priority populations.
- Experience with fiscal and contract management.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Knowledge and experience in team building and developing positive team dynamics, with the ability to supervise and manage both professional and paraprofessional staff.
- Ability to work cooperatively and supportively with other staff as a member of a treatment and management team.
- Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, sex and drug cultures, age groups, religion, country of origin, disability, and economic status.
- Three strong work-related professional references; at least 2 from a manager or supervisor.
- Current CPR certification (may be obtained upon hire).
- Complete TB screening (may be obtained upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a supportive member of a professional team.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated competence in service coordination and networking with other human service and health care providers.
Schedule
Full-time (40 hours), exempt position. On-site.
Pay
$83,220 annually.
