Full-time, 12-month remote position based in Columbus, Ohio. Candidates may work remotely with an expectation to be onsite as needed for departmental initiatives, strategic planning, collaboration, commencement, faculty assemblies, and other University events.

About the role

Franklin University is seeking a Program Chair to lead the Bachelor of Science in Financial Planning and the Associate and Bachelor of Science in Financial Management programs within the Ross College of Business. This position provides strategic direction through academic leadership, curriculum oversight, faculty supervision, teaching, assessment, scholarship, and engagement with industry and professional organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for all aspects of the Financial Planning and Financial Management programs, including curriculum quality, program assessment, accreditation and certification alignment, faculty development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the programs, leading curriculum development and revision efforts.
  • Approve course design and development, oversee course scheduling and staffing, and ensure program alignment with applicable accreditation standards and CFP® Board educational requirements.
  • Recruit, mentor, assign, observe, and evaluate lead faculty and adjunct faculty while fostering a collaborative and student-centered teaching environment.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the discipline.
  • Partner with Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, Transfer Credit, and other University departments to support student success.
  • Lead annual program assessment activities and develop and maintain a Program Advisory Board.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to support program growth and participate in University committees and governance.
  • Engage in scholarship and professional development, and represent Franklin University through professional associations and community partnerships.

Requirements

  • Earned doctorate in Finance, Financial Planning, or a closely related discipline from an institutionally (formerly regionally) accredited college or university, with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours in the discipline.
  • At least five years of university-level teaching experience and five years of progressively responsible leadership or management experience.
  • Demonstrated success in curriculum development, faculty leadership, assessment, and student engagement.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to student success and academic excellence.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic higher education environment.

Qualifications

Professional credentials such as Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) and/or Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®), along with significant professional experience in the financial services industry, are strongly preferred.
