Program Attorney
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversight of all legal issues including, attendance at court hearings, meetings, real property issues, drafting documents, Roger’s Reviews, Rudow, etc.
- Coordinate legal and clinical issues Re: placement, end-of-life decisions, medical decisions, appointments as Guardian, etc.
- Coordinate legal and financial issues Re: life insurance policies, banking, property management, appointments as Conservator, Trustee, etc.
- Responsible for drafting correspondence, pleadings, and other documentation in connection with case work.
- Responsible for supervising administrative staff in the legal component of the program.
- Share responsibility for rotation of a 24-hour pager to ensure provision of program services, ensuring 7 days per week, 365 days per year coverage.
- Review and maintain OUTLOOK calendar for meetings, court dates, reminders, etc.
- Aid with banking issues designated in Corporate Vote.
- Review and sign specific documents designated in Corporate Vote.
- Responsible for entering monthly billing in timely manner.
Requirements
Must be a licensed attorney in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and a member in good standing with the Board of Bar Overseers. Experience working in Elder Law/Guardianship is required.

Skills
Legal knowledge, experience in elder law, Guardianship, and ability to manage a caseload.

Pay
The annualized starting salary range is 60-62K with standard hours of 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, though coverage hours may vary based on program needs.

About the Role
Family Service Association is seeking a full time (35 hour weekly) Program Attorney to join the agency’s Guardianship program in late summer/early fall of 2026. This position has a hybrid work schedule. The FSA Guardianship program provides corporate guardianship/conservatorship services to elders and individuals with disabilities across Eastern, Massachusetts.
