About the role
The ACLU seeks applicants for the full-time position of Program Associate in the Affiliate Support and Nationwide Initiatives Department of the ACLU’s National office in New York, NY. This is a hybrid role that has in-office requirements of two (2) days per week or eight (8) days per month.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for ACLU affiliates.
- Collaborate with state affiliates to enhance their organizational capacity and effectiveness.
- Contribute to the growth and sustainability of the ACLU’s network of 54 state affiliates.
- Work on projects that strengthen the connections between the ACLU and its network of staff members.
- Engage in efforts to build program excellence and best practices across the ACLU’s network.
- Drive resources to key battles across the country, positioning the nationwide organization for future challenges.
Requirements
- A strong commitment to civil liberties and civil rights.
- Experience working with non-profit organizations or government agencies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as public policy, law, communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in project management or program development.
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of civil liberties and civil rights issues.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting.
