Responsibilities
- Ensure all 21st CCLC grant requirements are followed (data collection/sharing, data entry, program hours, transportation, meals, emergency preparedness plans and implementation, staffing, and grant specifics).
- Work to align schools and the 21st CCLC program (students’ needs, academic support, enrichment opportunities, behavioral procedures, staffing, family engagement, sharing of space, data collection, staff meetings, etc.)
- Cookordinate, plan and schedule educational activities, programs, and events to support student academic success and enrichment as well as family engagement and support.
- Oversee the 21st CCLC Continuous Quality Improvement Process (CQIP) of the overall 21st CCLC grant program. Ability to create and distribute surveys, collect/monitor/interpret data, draw valid conclusions in collaboration with staff, school leaders, and advisory board to create relevant action plans, reports, and high interest programs.
- Provide presentations about the 21st CCLC program to staff, partners and the public to raise awareness, support and the continuous quality improvement of the 21st CCLC program.
- Meet with school district administrators at a minimum of a monthly basis, to ensure programming is meeting the needs of students and families.
- Advise appropriate supervisor/manager/director of any issues to ensure efficient operations, and excellent customer service.
- Participate in cross-functional and leadership teams, as well as regularly scheduled staff meetings and professional development to support the work of all 21st CCLC staff and volunteers.
- Collaborate with community organizations to access resources to meet needs of students and families.
- Work directly with the fiscal office to maintain and ensure funds are used in accordance with state and federal requirements.
- Maintain the integrity of confidential information relating to a student, family, colleague, or district patrons.
- Complete general housekeeping to make sure the site is left clean and ready for the next program/day.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must possess, be working towards, or be willing to obtain Paraeducator Certification, Associates in education, child development, or related field.
- Must be able to meet all organizational, local, state, and federal licensing and training requirements including but not limited to CPR, First Aid, and Mandatory Reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood, Reading, Special Education or a related field preferred.
- At least one year of experience in grant administration.
- Ability to adjust teaching methods to meet the needs of students.
- Dependable, reliable work/volunteer history.
- Reliable transportation to and from the program sites.
- Reliable daily communication method-either phone or email
About the Role
The organization began in 1969 as a Boys’ Club with a very modest operation at the Pitt County Fairgrounds. Since that time, the organization has experienced significant growth in membership, programs, and facilities. In 1992 the Jack Minges Unit was built to accommodate the growing need for youth services and to include girls in the membership. Additional units were established in Ayden in 1993, Farmville in 1995 and Uptown Greenville in 2007. The Grady-White Boats/E.R. Lewis Family Unit was opened in 2007. The Club in Ayden relocated in April of 2010 and was named the Dr. Ledyard E. Ross Unit. The organization assumed responsibility for the Club in Lenoir County in 2010, two Clubs in Beaufort County in 2013, opened a new Club in November 2013 within Greene County Intermediate School and its 10th Club in Robersonville at East End Elementary School in January 2016. Today, more than 1,300 at-risk and in-need young people are taking advantage of the programs, activities and services provided by Clubs. In 2015, the organization changed its name to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain to properly represent its presence in Pitt, Lenoir, Beaufort, Greene, Martin, Carteret and Craven Counties.
