Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Observe, monitor, intervene, document, and report patient's social and interpersonal behavior and functional ability to perform as an independent individual in the community setting.
- To carry out therapeutic activities as designed by the clinical staff and/or the Case Manager.
- Implement behavior management programs including the levels system.
- Assist in emergency situations including the implementation of fire alarm and fire drill procedures and the provision of first aid treatment in case of illness or injury.
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of documentation and records including seizure reports, ADL check sheets, medication sheets, shift change reports, critical incident reports, etc.
- Attend in-services, and staff meetings.
- Provide transportation, observation, and documentation of responses on ADL outings such as shopping trips.
- Assist therapies upon request.
- Monitor and assist in residential ADL activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records including seizure reports, ADL check sheets, medication sheets, shift change reports, critical incident reports, etc.
- Discharge duties in accordance with Moody Neuro organizational policy, CARF and other accrediting bodies.
Qualifications
- The ability to work well with other people.
- Able to stimulate and motivate persons served with problems in motivation.
- Knowledge of social customs and responsibilities.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility, innovation, and good judgment.
- Ability to receive and follow instructions accurately.
- Knowledge of philosophical and ethical considerations in rehabilitation practice.
- Hold current CPR and first aid certifications.
- Ability to communicate accurate and pertinent information through documentations.
- Ability to execute emergency procedures.
- Ability to work rotating shifts.
- Ability to assist patients with transfer in a wheelchair.
- Certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI).
- Current/valid Driver's license.
- High-School Diploma or equivalent.
- College background helpful; Behavioral Science B.A. preferred.
- Psychology courses helpful.
- Prefer at least two years' experience in Residential Behavioral Rehabilitation Program, or one-two years' experience with disabled population, dealing with cognitive problem or 30- 60 hours of college will be substituted for experience.
