Program Analyst
About the role
The Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Service (ASPS) in the VA Northern California Health Care System (V ANCHCS) is a standalone specialty service clinic with direct reporting requirements to the office of the Chief of Staff. ASPS is a unified service comprised of two distinct professional disciplines - audiology and speech-language pathology.
Responsibilities
- Collect and evaluate data quantifying and qualifying clinic status and provider activity, synthesize those data, and present them to ASPS leadership.
- Distribute weekly data reports including the Pending Appointment Detail Report, Encounter Action Required Report, the Aging Consult Report, and the Unsigned/Uncosigned Notes Report.
- Identify questions for investigation of operations or processes; initiate process improvement projects; participate with and support ASPS staff in process improvement activities; gather data relevant to process improvement projects.
Requirements
This position requires a combination of specialized experience and education beyond a master’s degree. Examples of specialized experience include:
- Comprehensive knowledge and skill in applying a wide range of advanced practices, theories, and emerging information in health care delivery, data analysis and applications.
- Knowledge in the use of financial software packages.
- Experienced knowledge of VHA operations, national databases (including the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture [VISTA] architecture and file structure), analytical techniques and clinical applications development techniques.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/17/2026. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
