About the role
The Department of Physics and Engineering Physics at Tulane University seeks an experienced Electrical Engineering Professor of Practice to join our dynamic team. This position is a non-tenured full-time academic year (9-month) teaching role with a renewable 3-year appointment.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in electrical engineering, including communications, signal processing, power systems, and embedded/computer systems.
- Mentor students to prepare them for impactful careers in industry and academia.
- Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to enhance educational offerings and research opportunities.
- Participate in departmental committees and initiatives aimed at growing the electrical engineering programs.
Requirements
- A PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of industry experience in communications, signal processing, power systems, or embedded/computer systems.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
