This is a full-time faculty position based at Central Arizona College’s Signal Peak Campus in Coolidge, AZ. The role is district-wide and may require travel to and teaching at other campuses. Anticipated start date: January 11, 2027.
About the role
Provide a world-class learner experience for Central Arizona College students. Perform instruction-related and other duties in accordance with the philosophy, vision, mission, policies, and procedures of the College.
Responsibilities
- Teach Engineering classes throughout the curriculum, including:
- EGR102 Introduction to Engineering
- EGR120 Digital Design Fundamentals
- EGR222 Circuits I
- Math and/or other related coursework
- Deliver instruction in various modalities (face-to-face, online, hybrid, accelerated, evening, or late-start classes) across any campus, site, or center as needed.
- Incorporate activity- and project-based learning into engineering pedagogy.
- Participate in the NASA Arizona Space Grant High-Altitude Balloon Payload Grant and team-teach the associated course (SCI195).
- Engage in Engineering Projects classes (SCI195A, SCI195B).
- Mentor and provide career exploration opportunities for students majoring in engineering.
- Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the engineering pathway, including curriculum and pedagogy.
- Coordinate outreach activities to promote the college’s engineering pathway.
- Collaborate with regional high school engineering instructors on curriculum design and development to support transfer pathways.
- Deliver lectures, labs, recitations, seminars, and other learning experiences using diverse teaching styles.
- Use a variety of assessment tools to evaluate student progress and provide feedback.
- Communicate with students via email, online discussions, virtual chats (Blackboard), instant messaging, telephone, or in-person consultations.
- Maintain regular office hours.
