About the Role
As a Professional Services Veterinarian, you will consult with Practice Owner Veterinarians on medical protocols to promote growth and utilization of IDEXX products, services, and medical testing, while fostering customer satisfaction and loyalty. You will represent IDEXX to customers and academia, partner with the Sales Force, and collaborate with internal teams to provide technical support, training, and market trials.
Responsibilities
- Consult with Practice Owner Veterinarians on medical protocols to drive adoption of IDEXX products, services, and medical testing.
- Represent IDEXX to customers and academia, including hosting seminars and continuing education sessions at veterinary hospitals, universities, and veterinary schools.
- Partner with the Sales organization and other IDEXX teams to provide medical support, technical training, and market trial assistance.
- Proactively support IDEXX products by creating, reviewing, and presenting technical materials to diverse audiences.
- Assist in developing technical medical documents and provide input/approval oversight for marketing and field-selling materials.
- Support the IDEXX Training Department by creating written materials, presentations, and conducting training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with IDEXX SOPs and procedures for product questions, client records, and administrative responsibilities.
- Handle customer (veterinary and end-user) inquiries, provide technical medical advice, and follow through on product complaints.
- Adhere to and model IDEXX’s Purpose & Guiding Principles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- DVM degree or equivalent; advanced degree or board certification preferred.
- Typically, 5-8 years of experience in the veterinary industry and/or veterinary practice.
- Licensed to practice in at least one state (a plus).
- Solid knowledge of current topics and issues in clinical veterinary medicine.
- Strong business acumen, including specific knowledge of products and services sold.
- Seasoned business and medical professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence others effectively and resolve conflict through mutual understanding and respect.
- Excellent customer service and business relationship-building skills.
- Professional maturity, adaptability, and responsiveness to employee, customer, and peer needs.

- Ability to accommodate extensive travel up to 75% (four days in the field, one day work from home).
- Company vehicle provided; valid driver’s license required.
- Extended hours may be required.
This role supports our Mountain West Region and can be based out of Salt Lake City, UT; Las Vegas, NV; or Boise, ID.
Pay
Annual salary: $140,000–$160,000 based on experience. Opportunity for an annual cash bonus.
