Professional Engineer - Roadway

Core Responsibilities
- Design and analysis of freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails
- Prepare studies, reports, memos, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects
- Work under the direction of a Project Manager to lead the roadway design discipline and to coordinate and integrate the other associated design disciplines on projects
- Support project managers with client relations, stakeholder coordination, and sub consultant management
- Take ownership of projects from start to finish, with attention to quality, budget and schedule
- Interface with coworkers to achieve shared success
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineering license in state of employment or ability to obtain within one year of hire
- 5-10 years of experience in roadway transportation engineering
- Experience working on multidisciplinary project teams
- Solid background in AASHTO roadway geometric design criteria
- Proficiency using Bentley and/or Autodesk civil design software
- Knowledge of DOT standards and plan preparation procedures
- Drainage design and/or traffic engineering experience is a plus
- Solid written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project assignment
