Professional Dog Trainer

About the role

We are seeking a Professional Dog Trainer for our Missoula, MT location. This is a flexible schedule position requiring driving to different locations within the community.

Responsibilities

• Handle and train small and large breeds from puppy to adult.
• Work with dogs needing behavior modification from anxiety to aggression.
• Interact with the public in a professional manner.
• Drive to appointments in the local area.
• Continue education and increase training skills in dogs and humans.
• Be self-motivated!

Requirements

• Must reside in or around the Missoula MT area.
• Must be able to board at least 2 dogs at your residence for 14 days at a time.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have a smartphone.
• Must have knowledge with social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc.).
• Must attend and complete a 17-day certification process at the OLK9 Training Facility in Fredericksburg VA. This school and certification are free, but you are responsible for travel and reimbursement after 1 year of successful employment.

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic, reliability, honesty, and passion for dogs.
• Computer skills to create dog training videos (learnable through YouTube).
• Ability to work during peak traffic periods on weekdays and weekends.
• Customer service and communication skills are essential.

Pay

Pay is based on the number of boards and trains completed that month and hourly lessons completed. The right person can easily earn $50-70K/year (or more) with lots of flexibility and doing something they love!
