Arnold & Porter is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Professional Development Assistant to join our New York office. This role supports the planning and execution of attorney training programs, firmwide retreats, and associate development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of in-house training programs and professional development initiatives.
- Develop and distribute program evaluations and manage post-program follow-up activities.
- Collect, organize, and maintain Continuing Legal Education (CLE) applications, accreditation materials, and course documentation.
- Provide logistical support for trainings, workshops, and retreats, including scheduling, room reservations, catering coordination, and onsite event setup as needed.
- Maintain and update internal Professional Development resources, websites, and learning platforms, including Arnold & Porter University.
- Create and distribute internal communications and marketing materials promoting Professional Development programs and initiatives.
- Manage updates to the firmwide training calendar to ensure accurate and timely program information.
- Gather, track, and analyze participant feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support associate development processes and other department initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of professional office experience preferred.
- Experience in a law firm, corporate, or other professional services environment preferred.
- Familiarity with legal professional development programs and CLE accreditation requirements is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related technology applications.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven reliability, initiative, and commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to support programs and events.
Pay
The anticipated base salary for this position is $52,000 to $58,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, relevant experience, education, certifications, and location. As a nonexempt position, this role is eligible for overtime and may receive a discretionary annual bonus.
