Products Liability & Mass Torts Associate

About the role

O’Melveny & Myers LLP is seeking experienced associates (4th to 6th year) with complex litigation and trial experience to join their Products Liability and Mass Torts Practice Group.

Responsibilities

• Excelling in complex litigation, motion practice, depositions, discovery management, and trial preparation
• Drafting and editing pleadings, briefs, interview memos, and other written work product
• Conducting witness interviews
• Preparing for and conducting depositions
• Preparing for and participating in arbitrations and trials
• Experience with mass torts or product liability work and high-profile, complex litigation cases, including MDLs or multi-jurisdictional litigation is preferred

Requirements

• Excellent academic credentials
• Clerkships are preferred

Preferred candidates should have relevant experience and skills, including:

• Complex litigation and trial experience
• Experience with mass torts or product liability work
• High-profile, complex litigation cases, including MDLs or multi-jurisdictional litigation
• Experience with drafting and editing pleadings, briefs, interview memos, and other written work product
• Experience conducting witness interviews
• Experience preparing for and conducting depositions
• Experience preparing for and participating in arbitrations and trials

Skills

Strong legal writing and research skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are essential.

Benefits

The salary range in San Francisco for this role is $310,000 - $390,000 and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
