Products Liability & Mass Torts Associate
About the role
O’Melveny & Myers LLP is seeking experienced associates (4th to 6th year) with complex litigation and trial experience to join their Products Liability and Mass Torts Practice Group.
Responsibilities
- Excelling in complex litigation, motion practice, depositions, discovery management, and trial preparation
- Drafting and editing pleadings, briefs, interview memos, or other written work product
- Conducting witness interviews
- Preparing for and conducting depositions
- Preparing for and participating in arbitrations and trials
- Experience with mass torts or product liability work and high-profile, complex litigation cases, including MDLs or multi-jurisdictional litigation is preferred
Requirements
- Excellent academic credentials
- Clerkships are preferred
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in legal research, analysis, and writing. They should also possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with legal research databases are also beneficial.
Benefits
Salary range in Los Angeles for this role is $310,000 - $390,000. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
