Howmet Dover Alloy is a world-class supplier of vacuum and air-melted nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys to aerospace, gas turbine, medical, and other high-technology industrial markets.

This position is for a Core Leacher at our Howmet Casting facility located in Dover, New Jersey.

Schedule

Weekend Day Shift: Saturday to Monday, 6 AM – 6 PM. Training is on 1st shift, 6 AM – 2 PM.

Pay

New Hire Starting Hourly Rate: $25.00. After 12 Months: $27.71.

Responsibilities

  • Removes ceramic cores and quartz tubes from castings using caustic solutions, heated and pressurized to predetermined specifications.
  • Processes castings for subsequent inspection by the use of acids or other chemical solutions in accordance with predetermined specifications.
  • Mixes, neutralizes, cleans, and refills vessels containing acid or caustic solutions.
  • Maintains production and other records as required.
  • Maintains work area in a neat, clean, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Follows all applicable safety rules and works in a safe manner at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
  • Performs all post core removal cleaning operations, including waterhone, acid rinse, oven dry, and barascope.
  • Using a crane, loads and unloads castings into baskets for the core removal process to specific instructions.
  • Operates and maintains leach autoclaves and related equipment.
  • Loads leaching autoclave by operating mobile equipment.
  • Maintains identity of castings through all operations.
  • Performs process checks on caustic solutions.
  • Assists in the implementation of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) values and policy statements.
  • Complies with all department, facility, corporate, and regulatory EHS regulations.
  • Wears all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Reports all job-related illness and injuries.
  • Reports all safety, health, and environmental concerns to supervision in a timely manner.
  • Attends all EHS training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Must be able to run Robotic Equipment, crane, and mobile equipment after training.
  • Must pass required exams to operate equipment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate instructions.
  • Ability to operate multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously.
  • Ability to work inside in hot/cold environments depending on the weather.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items; employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • No relocation benefit is offered; candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Dover, NJ will only be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing experience.

Physical Demands

  • Requires lifting of up to 25 lbs.
  • Position involves working in pairs; weight limits listed are calculated accordingly.
