About the role
The Production Worker is vital to overall plant operations. You will assist with and may be assigned work in any area of the plant, including coating lines, slitting, shipping, receiving, paint vault, and packaging.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve and transport bare coils, maintaining metal flow to lines by safely operating cranes, forklifts, and upenders without damaging material or equipment.
- Trim, package, and band finished coils according to customer specifications using proper skids, bands, pads, and wrapping materials.
- Inspect coils and identify and report defects.
- Read and interpret production schedules.
- Accurately identify proper skid and package specified on schedules.
- Read and accurately record coil weights, order numbers, etc.
- Load or unload received or shipped coils onto or off of trucks.
Requirements
- High school level reading and writing ability.
- Visual acuity to read labels, meters, gauges, documents, and instructions.
- Ability to read and comprehend written materials such as schedules, SOPs, and work rules.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all team members.
- Ability to safely operate small manual and electric hand tools.
- Available to work up to 12 hours per day on rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Pay
$23.08 per hour
