About the role

This position is responsible for performing repetitive workstation, or line assembly operations to mass-produce sheet metal components, or to assemble those components into a completed product. Duties include operating machinery and performing related tasks as required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs assembly-type functions using hand and/or power tools
  • Operates press brake to form flat sheets
  • Operates automatic fastening machines and devices
  • Operates both stationary and moving overhead cranes
  • Operates forklift as required
  • Other duties may be assigned

Requirements

  • Experience operating a forklift preferred
  • 1-year general work production/manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to perform assembly type functions using hand and/or power tools
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
  • High School Diploma or GED

Language Skills

  • Ability to write and read routine reports or job orders
  • Ability to understand job instructions

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Must be able to perform these operations using American units of money, weight, volume and distance

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to interpret, understand, and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Attendance Demands

  • Attendance is required Monday through Friday within normal business hours as established by the supervisor
  • Employee may be required to work overtime

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle and feel objects
  • Frequently required to climb and balance
  • Occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must be able to communicate readily and to talk and hear
  • Specific visual abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to vibration
  • Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places
  • Occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock
  • The noise level in the work environment is occasionally very loud

Pay

$19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.
