ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Removes item from bins or carts for close inspection to determine if item is saleable.
- Scans clothing/textile items for defects such as holes, rips, tears, misaligned or missing fasteners or trim, and variations in color of fabric for clothing items.
- Examines fabric for holes or stains.
- Sorts textiles to determine quality and price or if item goes to As-Is, bale, or dump if appropriate.
- For non-clothing items, scans items for defects such as cracks, rust, broken or missing pieces, stains, and if item is operational.
- Sorts and prices item accordingly.
- Cleans item as needed.
- Hangs, tags, and prices textile and non-textile items.
- Works at different work stations as production needs require or stocking as needs arise.
- Must meet the following production standards:
- Grade and sort 2.5 carts or 486 units per hour with an error rate of less than 5%.
- Complete (sort, hang, tag) ½ of a rack of clothing per hour or complete (sort, price) 4 totes of non-textile items per hour.
Conducts work in a safe and responsible manner utilizing protective clothing and equipment and complies with safety standards.
Responsible for awareness of and adherence to all company and safety policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly required to: stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms;
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds;
- Occasionally maneuver wheeled containers weighing up to 100 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and heat;
- Near constant noise level in the work environment.
