Production Worker

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Removes item from bins or carts for close inspection to determine if item is saleable.
• Scans clothing/textile items for defects such as holes, rips, tears, misaligned or missing fasteners or trim, and variations in color of fabric for clothing items.
• Examines fabric for holes or stains.
• Sorts textiles to determine quality and price or if item goes to As-Is, bale, or dump if appropriate.
• For non-clothing items, scans items for defects such as cracks, rust, broken or missing pieces, stains, and if item is operational.
• Sorts and prices item accordingly.
• Cleans item as needed.
• Hangs, tags, and prices textile and non-textile items.
• Works at different work stations as production needs require or stocking as needs arise.
• Must meet the following production standards:
• Grade and sort 2.5 carts or 486 units per hour with an error rate of less than 5%.
• Complete (sort, hang, tag) ½ of a rack of clothing per hour or complete (sort, price) 4 totes of non-textile items per hour.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Regularly required to: stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms;
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds;
• Occasionally maneuver wheeled containers weighing up to 100 pounds;

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and heat;
• Near constant noise level in the work environment;
