About the role

The Finisher/Packager position at ClarkDietrich's manufacturing plant in Riverside is designed to foster a strong, team-oriented environment. This role involves packaging finished goods while also performing various machine operations and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Packages finished goods following proper packaging standards and procedures
  • Reads and accurately measures dimensions using a tape measure
  • Unitizes, checks counts, and verifies lengths
  • Learns and demonstrates ability to operate and adjust metal forming equipment
  • Safely sets up, operates, and adjusts metal forming equipment
  • Ensures production areas are fully stocked with required materials
  • Works in a fast-paced production environment
  • Understands and performs quality checks including measuring thickness, checking for straightness, bow, and camber
  • Performs routine maintenance and notifies maintenance personnel of issues
  • Maintains a clean and organized work station
  • Assists material handlers with changing coils and follows reject policies
  • Trains and assists helpers in performing necessary functions
  • Performs all necessary paperwork

Requirements

  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred
  • The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience
  • Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for 8+ hours, walking for 4-6 hours, squatting, bending, flexing, and extending both arms, grasping both hands for up to 8 hours, sitting, pushing carts of finished product and tools up to 50 lbs, pulling tools and finished product up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders/stairs occasionally, and using basic mathematical skills
  • Must be able to use and read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer accurately
  • Work environment includes a manufacturing facility exposed to heat and cold, controlled noise, and overhead crane and forklift movements

Qualifications

  • Education and/or experience in manufacturing preferred
