About the role
The Production Worker 1 is responsible for performing various tasks in the production process, including operating machinery, assembling products, and ensuring quality standards are met. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery according to company procedures and safety guidelines.
- Assemble products or components accurately and efficiently, following detailed instructions and blueprints.
- Inspect products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards. Report any issues to the supervisor.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Complete all required paperwork and computer entries accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to the principles of 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain). This includes regular cleaning, organizing tools and materials, ensuring workspaces are free of clutter, and following established procedures to maintain these standards consistently.
- Work effectively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines. Communicate clearly and professionally.
- Participate in training and development opportunities. Suggest and implement process improvements.
Requirements
- Preferred High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred but not required.
- Basic mechanical skills and ability to operate machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
Work Environment
- Safety is the highest priority; safety procedures and guidelines must always be adhered to, including wearing safety gear such as safety glasses, shoes, and gloves.
- Non-climate-controlled environment with exposure to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise.
- Involves various physical tasks, including lifting and operating machinery, with comprehensive training provided.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequent walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity for handling small parts and tools.
