Production Welder

About the role

A Welder will interact with the shop supervisor and other team members to ensure that jobs are completed in a safe, consistent, accurate and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and demonstrates Wurtec’s core values (dedicated, hardworking, ambitious, willing to accept responsibility, and integrity).
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and legal regulations, including Safety Data Sheets, Occupational Safety and Health Act, and Environmental Protection Act.
• Uses GMAW and GTAW welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies.
• Must be able to become CWB Certified.
• Operates other necessary equipment and performs necessary tasks to complete parts to specification.
• Arranges and stages of parts to be welded.
• Regularly reviews and follows all ISO documentation relating to the quality system.
• Maintains supplies by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies and notifying lead or supervisor of said supplies.
• Proposes potential quality or productivity enhancements i.e. “Continual Improvement”.
• Reports fabrication issues and assists with resolutions.

Requirements

• Full-time/in-person attendance is an essential function of this job.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with jigs and fixtures.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and prints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools.
• Experience working with metalworking tools.
• Aptitude for learning company ERP, Epicor.
• Basic computer skills, data entry, and Microsoft Office.
• Adaptability to cross train in other departments to satisfy customer needs.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour.
