About the role

The Production Underwriting Professional is responsible for driving profitable growth and delivering specialized underwriting expertise for commercial property catastrophe exposures, with a primary focus on flood and wind coverages.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and triage new business submissions to grow a profitable portfolio of commercial property catastrophe business.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance brokers, agents, and carrier partners.
  • Evaluate, price, and underwrite complex commercial property risks aligned with delegated underwriting authority.
  • Understand product features, underlying coverages, and authority limits to identify new business opportunities and expand existing client relationships.
  • Meet or exceed production, retention, and revenue objectives.

Requirements

  • Experience underwriting commercial property insurance risks.
  • Knowledge of catastrophe coverages, including flood and wind exposures.
  • Strong analytical, sales, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to evaluate complex risk information and make sound underwriting decisions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with CAT modeling tools and exposure management platforms.
  • Knowledge of coastal property risks, NFIP programs, excess flood markets, and wind underwriting practices.
  • Experience working with large schedule commercial property accounts.
  • P&C license preferred.

Pay

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $60,000 to $70,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
