Production Testing Technician

The Electrical Testing Technician ensures that low- and medium-voltage products meet industry standards and client specifications.

Responsibilities

• Test low- and medium-voltage products including electrical Switchgear, Switchboards, Panelboards, Breakers, and Motor Control Centers (MCC’s).
• Work closely with Engineering to identify issues with electrical drawings.
• Follow Inspection & Test Plans (ITP’s) and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT’s).
• Maintain Repair/Calibration database, including job entries, record-keeping, associated paperwork, and time tracking.
• Prepare detailed service and failure records.
• Meet project deadlines with a strong focus on customers.
• Train others and manage teams in varied settings.
• Validate and correct existing technical documents, including test procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Technical college education or equivalent formal training in Electrical Engineering Technologies.
• CET/CTech certification or Electrician’s/Journeyman designation/license.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis of electrical equipment.
• Sound theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical testing, including use of High Pot test set, Current Injector, Megger insulation resistance meter, Multi Meter, Relay Test Set, and Corona test set.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret schematics.
• Proficiency in computer systems (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Capable of managing technical tasks with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to train personnel, oversee teams, and work collaboratively.
• Satisfactory completion of additional background screening.

Physical Requirements

• Wear hand protection (cut-resistant gloves or leather work gloves) and hearing protection (earmuffs in fabrication areas) as required.
• Steel or composite toe boots/shoes (reimbursement available for one pair annually).
• Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, stand, or walk; lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.
• Manipulate small parts and use hand tools; good hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
• Comfortable with occasional repetitive motions.
• Ability to follow instructions and stay alert to hazards on the shop floor.
• Navigate manufacturing facilities with loud environments, bright lights, and seasonal temperature variations.
• Availability for travel between local facilities (North Wales & West Chester, PA).
