Tampa Microwave is a leading manufacturer and supplier of Manpack & Fly Away satellite terminals designed and built for the expeditionary user community to guarantee communications connectivity in the most austere environments. Tampa Microwave primarily serves Federal and Department of Defense markets.

About the role

This position reports to the Manufacturing Test Manager and is located in our Clearwater, FL location.

Responsibilities

  • Test, align, and troubleshoot RF sub-assemblies/systems from DC to 40GHZ. Analog and digital knowledge required.
  • Have knowledge or willingness to learn equipment related to RF test sets such as spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, RF power meters, DMM’s and Oscilloscopes.
  • Set up standard test apparatus and fixtures to conduct tuning, functional, operational, and environmental tests to evaluate performance and reliability of production hardware.
  • Ensure integration and test processes conform to released documentation. Provide input to Production/Test Manager or Manufacturing Engineers on production metrics that identify integration and test inefficiencies.
  • Analyze and interpret data.
  • Read schematics and identify schematic symbols.
  • Record test data and observations using Microsoft tools (e.g., Excel, Word) and utilize this data while following lean manufacturing principles to work with the production supervisor, Manufacturing Engineer, and Quality Assurance Manager to increase integration and test throughput and reduce cost.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • May be subjected to work outside at times.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Level Security Clearance upon hire as required.
  • AS degree or military equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the integration and test of complex digital/microwave hardware.
  • Ability to lift test equipment and hardware up to 35 lbs.
  • Some domestic travel may be required.
  • Fluent in the English language—written and oral.
