About the Role
This position sits within the Power Generation Division, responsible for all NextEra Energy's non-nuclear generation operations. It is a multi-craft role focused on operating and maintaining plant equipment at our Pensacola, Florida location. The preferred craft is Instrumentation and Controls.
This role performs power plant operations and maintenance on station equipment, including water chemistry and environmental compliance activities. The position requires working a 12-hour rotating shift, including night shifts, weekends, holidays, and responding to off-hour callouts as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain power plant equipment.
- Perform water chemistry and environmental compliance activities.
- Respond to off-hour callouts and work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Obtain outside/inside operation qualifications.
Requirements
- Must hold Journeyman level qualification as an Industrial Electrician, Journeyman I&C, or Journeyman Mechanic or possess an Associate degree directly applicable to Power Generation.
- If entering with an Associate degree, must obtain the basic craft qualification of the discipline specified (Instrumentation and Controls).
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Pass the POSS & MASS tests.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of industrial experience in the specified craft discipline (Instrumentation and Controls).
