About the role

MSA Safety in Cranberry Township, PA is hiring for a Production Technician I for Final Assembly. This position follows predetermined procedures to assemble, modify, and rework moderately complex products and/or sub-assemblies requiring wiring, soldering, and connecting. You will follow test procedures, perform minor troubleshooting, and pack products according to customer specifications while adhering to safety, housekeeping, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • 80% Assembles and tests, including set-up, of moderately complex instruments and/or sub-assemblies requiring wiring and soldering following predetermined procedures.
  • 10% Packages instruments and picks material from the warehouse.
  • 5% Visually inspects and performs minor repairs.
  • 5% Completes and maintains relevant paperwork and inputs information into the computer system.
  • Maintains production goals through productivity targets and cost containment by eliminating waste.
  • Adheres to safety, housekeeping, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 months of electronics manufacturing or other related experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Understand standard units of measure and set up/interpret results of various measuring devices.
  • Perform standard software operations including SAP.
  • Sometimes lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Use power and hand tools, and ability to use custom tooling.
  • Regularly perform fine finger and hand activity with steady hand required.
  • Effectively communicate with various levels within the organization, including training new associates and temporaries.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Organize and prioritize work.
  • Work overtime as required.

Qualifications

Time required to become proficient on the job, producing work of acceptable quality and quantity, is 6–9 months.

  • Past soldering experience is preferred.

Pay

Starting pay is $22.90/hr with a $1.00 shift differential (Pay Grade HR130).

Schedule

3rd Shift: 11:00 pm – 7:00 am, Sunday through Friday.
