Production Technician - Day Shift

Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment daily to ensure it is clean and sanitary.
  • Coordinate proper flavoring with correct packaging film.
  • Check date codes for accuracy as instructed.
  • Inspect bag seams to ensure seals are strong.
  • Work with Quality Control Operators to maintain standards; keep applicable records.
  • Maintain efficient operation of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and proactively solve potential problems with equipment.
  • Train and manage packers’ break schedule.
  • Communicate with all production teams to ensure positive flow of production and accomplish goals of the production schedule.
  • Comply with all Plant, State, and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
  • Understand applicable SQF requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and learn multiple jobs while maintaining high quality of work.
  • Ability to identify and analyze issues.
  • Desire to be a hands-on, on-the-floor-oriented manufacturing team member.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Speaking, Reading, Writing) in English.
  • Excellent attendance record.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Work is performed in an office and production environment with moderate to loud noise levels.

  • Frequent standing, sitting, walking, use of hands and fingers, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include reading and analyzing data in hard copy and on a computer screen, measuring or identifying using eyesight, and adjusting vision focus.
