Responsibilities
- Covering various tests of power plant equipment such as boiler water sampling (pH, salt, and phosphate), lube oil analysis, gas purity, atmospheric safety testing, dew point analysis, and environmental monitoring sampling programs.
- Performing water treatment processing on power plant equipment along with chemical and gas sampling for analysis.
- Maintaining chemical instrumentation by cleaning and calibrating equipment, replacing probes and components, and conducting alarm checks.
- Compiling routine data and special reports to evaluate trends and efficiency.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and 4 years equivalent technical experience (Power, Water Treatment, marine, etc.) or Associate's Degree In Chemistry/Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years Practical knowledge of power plant equipment, specifically regarding water treatment, boiler chemistry, and environmental sampling.
- 3-5 years Experience in PC based software (i.e. Microsoft Office programs).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Less than 2 years Experience with hand tools involved in tube bending and piping.
