Production Technician - Cannabis Extraction
About the role
The Extraction Assistant supports day-to-day operations within the Extraction Department, ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant production workflows. This role is responsible for preparing fresh frozen or cured biomass bags for ethanol and hydrocarbon extraction, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, handling raw materials with precision, and assisting extraction technicians with routine tasks. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, can follow SOPs, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. We are seeking candidates for both first shift and second shift.
Responsibilities
- Preparing fresh frozen or cured biomass bags for ethanol and hydrocarbon extraction
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
- Handling raw materials with precision
- Assisting extraction technicians with routine tasks
- Ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant production workflows
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically active tasks
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures
- Comfortable using scales, basic lab equipment, and cleaning tools
- Willingness to learn extraction processes and equipment operation
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, or processing environment
- Experience in cannabis extraction or lab processing
- Familiarity with solvents, extraction equipment, or hazardous materials
- Knowledge of inventory systems, METRC, Canix, or seed-to-sale tracking
Working Conditions
This role works in an extraction facility environment with exposure to solvents, loud equipment, and temperature fluctuations. Required PPE includes gloves, safety glasses, lab coat/coveralls, respirators when required, and hearing protection.
Schedule
First Shift Hours: Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm; Second Shift Hours: Monday-Friday 1pm-9:30pm
