Production Technician - Blend

About the role
The Production Technician is a member of a high-performance work team responsible for operating, maintaining, and cleaning equipment to meet production goals and maintain product quality. As a Blending Technician, you will blend products according to order specifications while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety procedures. This role involves weighing, blending, mixing, and transporting liquid and dry chemicals to produce beverages.
Responsibilities
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a high level of sterile awareness.
- Set up and operate blending equipment per Manufacturing Order (MO) instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Manage inspection, unloading, and storage of inbound materials.
- Process work orders efficiently and accurately per MO instructions and daily production schedules.
- Perform basic math calculations using calculators as needed.
- Create production batch samples for Quality Assurance testing.
- Add ingredients to blenders and process per production orders; calculate quantities, weigh, verify, document, and complete batches.
- Blend juices and water using mixers, pumps, pipes, hoses, flow meters, and tanks.
- Adjust batches and complete batch correction worksheets and related documentation.
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment for cleaning, following safety guidelines.
- Understand part numbers, lot numbers, and product descriptions as they relate to the MO.
- Practice Lean Manufacturing to improve efficiency and eliminate waste.
- Update and maintain required logs and paperwork (e.g., equipment use, cleaning logs, MO).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment to ensure efficiency, employee safety, and product integrity.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of production or electrical/mechanical experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment.
- Ability to work well in a team-based, diverse culture.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Stable work history required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Willingness to work any shift, including overtime as required.
- Must pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
- Must successfully pass a basic skills assessment.
Physical Requirements
- Stand on hard surfaces (e.g., concrete) for extended periods, up to 12 hours per shift.
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Climb stairs, ladders, platforms, and other structures to inspect, operate, maintain, or troubleshoot equipment.
- Bend at the knees, twist the back, and kneel as needed to access equipment.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying seasonal temperatures and humidity levels.
- Function effectively in high-noise areas while using proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work around steam, pressure points, chemicals, and other potential hazards.
Pay
$22.59/hour with a $0.75/hour shift differential for night shifts (7pm - 7:30am).
Schedule
Full-time, 12-hour shifts on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule (Sunny Delight line).
