Production Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Setup, operation, breakdown, inventory, and maintenance of broadcast, audio, lighting, and video equipment.
• Provide A/V support for broadcasts, concerts, and special events.
• Assume assigned production roles and responsibilities as required.
• Understand and respond to client needs.
• Communicate in a friendly, respectful, and understandable manner.
• Demonstrate strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Operate equipment to ensure successful event production.
• Provide technical support throughout events.
• Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Operate and staff all audio, video, and scoreboard systems for events.
• Collaborate with the Production Supervisor and Electronics Technician to maintain equipment and manage supplies.
• Work closely with event coordinators to deliver optimal client service.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience working in a live performing‑arts venue, center, or theater.
• Experience in broadcast production and A/V equipment.
• Ability to operate scissor and bucket lifts and work at heights over 50 ft.
• Must be able to lift and push at least 50 lb and stand for long periods.
• Working knowledge of broadcast production, audio, video, lighting, and general A/V equipment.
• Technical degree or certification preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge and experience working with stagehand personnel.
• Understanding of operations, maintenance, and arena management.
• Working knowledge of applicable OSHA, state, and other workplace safety regulations.
• Familiarity with fire and public safety issues.

Physical Demands

• High noise level environment.
• Manual labor, moderate lifting, and potentially arduous working conditions.
• Ability to work extended and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Hours of Work and Travel Requirements

Work schedule varies by show and may include days, nights, weekdays, and weekends.
