About the role
The Production Technician produces quality parts and supports the manufacturing process by ensuring parts are produced at rate/cycle time and processes meet customer and JJENA automotive assembly standards.
Responsibilities
- Attend daily shift meetings.
- Follow standard work to build parts safely, with quality, and productively.
- Consistently practice safe work behaviors, including wearing PPE, attending training, reporting unsafe acts or conditions, and performing self-audits.
- Perform quality checks on parts in accordance with standard work or special instructions (e.g., Quality Alerts, Red Rabbits).
- Participate in projects or work teams focused on improvements using Lean Manufacturing methods (Kaizen, 5S) or problem-solving techniques (5-Why, 8D, process mapping).
- Follow company work rules, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain 5S standards.
- Correct quality and production standards within cycle time.
- Escalate issues to Team Leader/Shift Supervisor as necessary.
- Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Support troubleshooting and resolving equipment downtime issues.
- Participate in tool changes/changeovers on the line when required.
- Install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment.
- Support the team to ensure machines function properly through troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Participate in system (EMS) procedures and work instructions.
- Rotate positions/duties to support cross-training or backfill for absenteeism.
- Assist with additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; practical experience may substitute.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven manufacturing experience.
- Experience in manufacturing technology, automation, or related fields.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Physical Requirements
- Alternate between sitting and standing; climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding, or ramps.
- Crouch, stoop, drive, and perform near/far visual acuity tasks.
- Fine and gross motor manipulation (e.g., keyboarding, lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling).
- Hearing, speaking, and peripheral visual acuity.
- Kneeling, reaching overhead or below, and repetitive task performance.
- Wear safety gear such as goggles/glasses and gloves.
Environmental Requirements
The production facility is climate-controlled with no long-term exposure to dangerously loud noise or extreme temperatures.
