About the Role
Plant technicians are hired as members of a high-performance work team responsible for operating production lines, keeping production flowing, meeting performance goals, and maintaining the high level of quality that consumers expect from our products.
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot high-speed making, packing, and other production-related equipment.
- Use basic hand and power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, drills, and grinders.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Demonstrate ownership, confront business-related problems, and continuously improve equipment and processes.
- Follow all safety and good manufacturing practices as detailed in plant procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Work in and out-of-doors in seasonal ranges of temperature and humidity.
- Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Enter confined spaces, including tanks and other normal work areas.
- Climb stairs, ladders, platforms, etc., on equipment, tankage, and building structures for inspecting, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting.
- Bend at the knees and bend/twist the back for operating and maintaining equipment.
- Stand on concrete floors for periods of up to 12 hours per shift.
- Drive a material handling tractor backward in areas of high traffic and close quarters.
- Operate high-speed equipment requiring high levels of physical coordination and sensory capability (auditory, visual, olfactory, touch).
- Consistently attend work during normally scheduled work hours, including weekends and occasional overtime.
- Work any scheduled shifts (rotating shifts – plant specific).
Qualifications
- Production experience (2 years preferred).
- Desire to learn manufacturing processes, including operating and maintaining automated equipment, computer systems, and product distribution systems.
- Strong technical aptitude, proven leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid interpersonal and computer skills (databases, Excel, Word, or equivalent).
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment.
- Ability to work well in a team-based, diverse culture.
- Experience in liquid process or packing operations.
Pay
$23.95/hour (plus shift differential if applicable).
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts (rotating): 2-2-2 schedule (2 days on - 2 days off - 2 days on, then switch the following week to 2 days off - 2 days on - 2 days off).
- Day Shift: 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Night Shift: 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM
- 8-hour shifts:
- First Shift: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
- Second Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- Third Shift: 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM
