Production Technician

Fox TV Stations owns and operates 29 full-power broadcast television stations across the U.S., including 18 FOX Network affiliates. These stations serve 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas and produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news weekly.

About the role

KRIV FOX 26, the FOX-owned station in Houston, is a streaming-first news organization transforming local news delivery. We are seeking a Full-Time Production Technician to support live and recorded news production in a fast-paced, automated broadcast environment.

Responsibilities

• Switch and code live newscasts using the Ross Overdrive Automation System
• Operate or support Vizrt/TriCaster workflows, audio, graphics, robotic cameras, studio lighting, and floor directing
• Coordinate live shots and troubleshoot transmissions using LiveU Central, microwave, and other systems
• Work with the Technical Operations Center to ensure seamless live-shot integration

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with live switching, technical directing, producing, or directing in a deadline-driven control room
• Familiarity with Chyron or similar graphics systems
• Experience producing and writing content is a plus
• Ability to multitask under pressure, communicate clearly, and work well in a team
• Adaptability during breaking news situations
• Flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and coverage for vacations/sick leave
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred

Pay

$33.50–$34.94 per hour, with final offer dependent on education, skills, experience, and location.
