About the Role
As a Production Technician, you’re a member of a production crew, reporting to a supervisor of an assigned production area. You will contribute to the success of Ball by observing operating principles of all assigned equipment and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for your area of responsibility. The Fairfield plant is a high-volume, fast-paced 24/7-365 days/year manufacturing environment.
Schedule
Crews work 12 ¼-hour shifts (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am) on a 4 days on, 4 days off rotation, switching between day and night shifts every 7 weeks.
Responsibilities
- Follow all 5S standards and job safety practices and policies, including food safety, personal protective equipment, and emergency procedures.
- Operate, adjust, and repair high-speed production equipment to meet plant production goals.
- Assist with performing preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Inspect aluminum for proper quality standards and customer specifications.
- Build positive relationships across your team by effectively collaborating, communicating, and upholding ethical integrity.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- 1-year minimum experience in a mechanical job-related field with demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years’ work experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions
- May be subject to hot/cold working conditions.
- Loud/noisy environment.
- Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
- Climbing (stairs and other equipment as necessary).
Pay
Hiring salary range: $32.40/hour.
