About the Role

This position is responsible for individual tasks within a food manufacturing environment, ensuring safe and clean operations in the assigned area. The job holder will be fully trained and competent in all required tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Follow proper Work Instruction procedures, including lab testing for conformance to specification and product integrity.
  • Coordinate production with the Shift Coach to meet production objectives.
  • Ensure proper procedures for production security and biosecurity.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure the work area is clean at all times.
  • Operate and maintain a forklift or other equipment for material handling.
  • Sample product as required by Quality instructions and perform qualified testing.
  • Perform sanitation on equipment as required.
  • Follow GMP and other quality processes and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

  • Work environment can be hot, humid, dusty, or cold depending on the season.
  • May require working inside or outside the building based on role needs.
  • Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations.
  • Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people and conditions.
  • Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes.
  • Must communicate effectively and understand people.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Previous food industry experience is preferred.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible.
  • Ability to communicate and understand role expectations.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Recordkeeping and documentation skills.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory testing equipment.
  • Basic understanding of process documentation.
  • Ability to speak and write English at a basic level (nonessential).

Physical Demands

  • Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and climbing.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate equipment.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) for recording and communicating reports and lab results.
  • Requires lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires exposure to machines, chemicals, and solvents.

Materials and Equipment Used

  • Forklifts and other manufacturing equipment for receiving, movement, and management of materials (e.g., granular sugar in totes or bags).
  • Office machinery including calculators, computers, printers, copiers, etc.

Pay

Starting pay with potential to make up to $21.00 within the first 6 months, including a $1.00 shift differential for night shifts. Additional earnings possible by learning skills such as filter press, Invert, light side, dark IX, or load out.

Schedule

AM and PM shifts available: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM.
